September 11, 2021:  Sara Johnson presented a fun look at the the elements of mystery, the history of mystery, and the Golden Age of mystery on September 11, 2021. She outlined the elements of mystery, clue types, and the influence of Edgar Allan Poe along with others like William Wilkie Collins and Metta Fuller Victor who contributed to the genre.

August 14, 2021: Triangle Sisters in Crime hosted author and editor Nora Gaskin for a detailed conversation on using characters to create tension and suspense.  Nora Gaskin shared a fascinating look at characters and how to use them elevate your novel. In her presentation, Solving the Mystery of Mysteries, Nora pointed out concepts and resources that every writer can use to spark their characters and lead to a satisfying read. 

Nora provided the resource guide below as a companion piece to the recording.

Conversation with Clay Stafford, Killer Nashville Founder, moderated by author, J.D. Allen. This was a lively and engaging informal discussion about Killer Nashville (event dates August 19-22, 2021) and the value of writers attending conventions. J.D. also shared her experience from the many conventions she has attended and talked about her latest book, Body Zoo, coming out this summer (and one lucky guest received a free copy!). ​

April 10, 2021: Triangle Sisters in Crime Presents Poisons with Luci Zahray, The Poison Lady - Luci is a retired hospital pharmacist and avid mystery reader who has all of the details you need on what poison is, where to find them, factors that affect how fast they work.

​June 13, 1:30 PM:  ​Growing Your Author Platform in the Changing Media and Publishing Landscape.  Andrea Kiliany Thatcher is a Book Publicist at Smith Publicity, a bookseller and social media manager at McIntyre's Books. She discusses the difference between marketing and publicity, how to market your book now and plan for the future, and how to work with self-publishing platforms and traditional publishers. She answers the questions: what does a publicist do and do I need one?
